How does it feel?
Here Casushi rolls quite well, offering a wide array of games: from Slots to Table and Live Games or Jackpots. It pleased us to see a large variety of game providers, more than 40. They have all the important ones: Play’n GO, Microgaming, NetEnt, Yggdrasil Gaming or Evolution Gaming. Their offer is also full of Megaways and Slingo games, which everyone seems to love these days. Although Casushi is a smaller online casino, judging by its offering, they’re well on their way to compete with bigger players.
Design
Casushi opted for a colourful design with a Throwback Thursday kind of vibe. Navigating this casino felt like taking a walk on Gerrard Street in London, between all the shops in Chinatown. Original and diverse. Sometimes though, usability wise it feels like they stopped halfway. Some of the pages seem outright redundant for example. We didn’t understand the need for two presentation pages when the Home Page looks like the “Games” page.
Moreover the search function didn’t feel well developed. They have the standard search for specific games or providers, but it’s quite hard to discover games with features that you like. Without any custom fields or at least more categories, you have to rely on other sites to find out what can be appealing. We’re always looking to see if casinos implement an user-friendly search function with useful filters, themes or categories (like PlayOJO) as it shows us that the owners understand their players. Unfortunately with Casushi there is quite a lot of room for improvement.
That said, the site feels clean, minimalistic and light. We’ve seen a lot worse, so we’re not going to subtract too many points here.
Promotions
Casushi’s Welcome Offer is on the lower end of the spectrum with 100% bonus up until 50£/€/$ and 50 bonus spins on Starburst. Unfortunately, it seems to hit a lot of the negative points we mentioned in our welcome bonus guide:
- low bonus cap, at only £50,
- bonus spins are split over 3 days,
- low maximum withdrawal from the bonus, at £250.
In addition to their initial offer, Casushi markets the Imperial Club and The Sushi Train Programme as part of their loyalty campaign. These are practically a VIP club and a gamification system for playing more with them.
The Imperial Club
Via the Imperial Club they selectively invite players to join. This membership gives players access to an account manager, additional rewards and events as well as a weekly cashback bonus. It sounds just as nice as with every other casino out there, but since we didn’t reach that level, it’s hard to comment on it. That being said, we didn’t get what’s up with that fake-gold watch reward.
The Sushi Train Programme
Is a basic slot that appears every time you fill your loyalty bar. Depending on what combinations you hit, you’ll get “Casushi Points” which you can spend in the “Casushi Shop” on bonus spins of various kinds. It’s definitely a fun addition and a nice surprise to get something when you might be down on funds at the end of a session.
We would have liked to see a bit more variety in the rewards provided, but the basis for an enjoyable experience is there.
Understand these T&Cs before depositing
First of all, it bears mentioning that Casushi is on the Dazzletag license, which is the same owner as FruitKings. And this means that most of the Terms and Conditions are similar, so the criticism we had in the previous review remains valid here. In short, the bonus restrictions are quite heavy and they can make for a very unenjoyable experience.
Withdrawal Limitations
First of all, all bonuses received when playing at Casushi have a maximum cashout. We covered the welcome bonus above, however all other bonuses have a £500 maximum cashout too. This is very low, to the point where you might even consider not taking a bonus.
Next, Casushi has a £250,000 daily limit for winnings. If you exceed that limit in any 24-hour period, any bets made once the limit has been exceeded may be rendered void. Sure, they will return your stakes to your account but this doesn’t quite make up for it. Even though this term doesn’t apply to Jackpot games, it does put a dampener in your play if you’re used to playing volatile slots or even table games for high stakes.
Secondly, playing some of the games will have your bonus outright forfeited. This wouldn’t be bad if it was stated clearly, however these conditions are hidden in the fine print of the Terms and Conditions page. So, make sure to keep in mind not to play Slingo or Jackpot games with an active bonus at Casushi.
Gameplay Limitations
Let’s start by pointing out that there seems to be some confusion regarding how much the maximum bonus bet is. They seem to have different values in different places. In their General T&Cs they mention £8 maximum bet, while in their bonus terms it’s £5. If you do claim a bonus from them, we recommend you stick to the lower value as to not risk having your winnings forfeited. That being said we didn’t appreciate the lack of clarity on this topic as it can create all kinds of issues on withdrawal.

This wouldn’t be bad if it was stated clearly, however these conditions are hidden in the fine print of the Terms and Conditions page. So, make sure to keep in mind not to play Slingo or Jackpot games with an active bonus at Casushi.
Finally, we found it annoying how claiming a bonus also put limitations on your real-money deposit. Apparently you’re not allowed to bet more than £12.50 of your real money, if you accept a bonus with that deposit. While we understand the casino’s need to “protect themselves”, this seems a bit excessive.
Conclusion
Casushi is an online casino brand that we can confidently put in the “adequate” category. The presentation is out of the ordinary, the offering is good, but the conditions to play with them are pretty restrictive. If you’re a person that doesn’t rely too much on deposit bonuses to get enjoyment out of their game sessions, we believe Casushi can be a good place to play at. You can give it a try here.
